Mayura Station: Gardener / Groundsperson (Part time)

About the role:

Mayura Station is looking for a Part time Gardener and Groundsperson to join their team.

National award winning full-blood Wagyu Beef producer Mayura Station is a progressive, vertically integrated beef producer, with its ‘paddock to plate’ operation supplying premium Full-blood Wagyu boxed beef both domestically and internationally, utilising cutting-edge practices and quality equipment from modern facilities.

The successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Farm Operations Manager.

The Role:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Routine garden clean-up and damage inspection. 
• Collect litter and hazardous material and dispose in an appropriate manner.
• Inspect structures and amenities and report any damage to supervisor.
• Identify weeds and pests and use appropriate methods of control, ie:  through mechanical means or use of chemical control measures.
• Identify repair and replace old rotting timber structures eg:  garden bed sleepers.
• Ensure gardens, trees and lawns are fertilized and groomed to maintain acceptable presentation.
• Remove damaged / rotten hazardous tree limbs within a reasonable radius of structures.
• Identify reticulation problems with lawns and gardens promptly, incident report and repair same.Meet and greet customers in a professional manner
• Any other duties as directed

About You:

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Solid confidentiality and integrity skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience with garden maintenance and the use of associated plant and equipment.
• General knowledge of garden maintenance procedures.
• Good knowledge with the use and maintenance of various types of equipment associated with garden maintenance.
• Works with integrity and ethically.
• Reacts well under pressure.
• Takes responsibility for own actions.
